Numerous are the reasons to travel to Thailand; perhaps not the most known, but the food must be a priority. The Thai cuisine is an incredible mix of flavours, colours and textures that surprised the most demanding palates. For those who want to experience new sensations, we propose making one of the most common dishes, the Phad Thai.
Ingredients for four people:
250 grams of rice noodles, thick
150 grams of fillets of pork thinly sliced
120 gr shrimp peeled and chopped coarse
2 tablespoons sunflower oil
2 tablespoons fish paste (can be replaced by a tin of anchovies in oil, well washed)
3 well chopped garlic cloves
2 fresh red chiles, seeded and chopped well
2 tablespoons lime juice
6 stalks of fresh chopped chives
2 tablespoons sugar cane
2 beaten eggs
2 or 3 tablespoons chopped cilantro
150 grams of chopped unsalted peanuts
Onion for submission
The preparation is quite simple. Soak noodles in warm water, about ten minutes. Drain and reserve. Heat the oil in a wok, and skip the garlic, chile and meat, about three minutes. Then add the prawns and skip another two minutes. Add the chives and noodles. Cover the wok and cook about two minutes. Add the fish sauce, limejuice, sugar and eggs. With two wooden spoons, mix well and cook until studded egg this well. Sprinkle cilantro and peanuts, and serve, traditionally accompanied by crispy onion into thin strips.
Enjoy it!
